Presenting, The Irregulars!
(Arranged oldest to youngest)
Wendy: The oldest and the leader of the Irregulars, this teenager is very self-assured and good at planning. She's an accomplished pick pocket and, along with her brother Jon, was the first Irregular recruited. She and Jon lived in Razor territory, squatting because they were kicked out of a 'subsidized guardian' home, before Sherlock found them.
Jon: Wendy’s brother, two years younger than her, and sort of the unofficial second-in-command. He doesn’t talk. Handy with a knife, he will do anything to protect his sister, but he also knows she can take care of herself. He and Wendy lived in Razor territory, squatting because they were kicked out of a ‘subsidized guardian’ home, before Sherlock found them.
Captain: Captain is debonair and full of himself, but it's mostly an act. The teen picked pockets, ran scams, and sold himself to wealthy people he met around the Corporate sector clubs before meeting Sherlock. Now he mostly spends his time helping his fellow Irregulars with anything he can.
Muse: Known for her over-sized tattered magenta coat, Muse writes music and poetry when she's not spying for Sherlock. She lives at home with her mom and older brother, studying as much as she can to make up for the lack of the formal schooling they can't afford.
Ben: A big lad, tall for his age and broad. Ben is a gentle giant (for the most part.) ‘Big Ben’ is a young teen, but he does manual labor work at sites around the City that don't ask about his age.
Twist: Twist is a slim, lithe girl with tight braids, and is extremely flexible. She worked as a dancer/contortionist before Captain took her to Sherlock, who hired her. She still dances, but now it's a street-corner routine, and fully clothed.
Yuki: Yuki is the spiritual center of the group. She doesn't practice any one particular religion, but reads a lot about a variety. Her family owns a restaurant with debts to the Yakuza so severe that the business barely breaks even each month. Poor but proud, they encourage Yuki to learn so that one day she can break out.
Jeni (Jeneva): Jeni helps her dad in his tech 'strip and resale' business. The most gadget-savvy of the Irregulars, Jeni loves to mix and match parts and build whatever she can from her scavenged materials. Sherlock insists on using her full name, Jeneva. If anyone else did it, she'd beat them to a pulp.
Michael: Recruited by Wendy, he has an older brother who is a member of the Jackals scavenger gang. He and his brother couch-surfed among apathetic relatives when their parents died, and the gang provided stability of a sort. His brother keeps Michael from getting too involved with the gang, and is glad Michael's found a job spying for Sherlock, though he'd never tell Sherlock that.
Aidan and Nadia: The white-haired androgynous twins aren't identical, but might as well be. They're very quiet, and kind of spooky. Not much is known about them, but the rest of the Irregulars suspect they're abuse survivors, and possibly autistic. One thing that's certain is how ridiculously perceptive the twins are, with what Michael once described as "ninja quality unseen powers." They occasionally speak in unison.
Bit: Bit is the youngest of the group, and the smallest. He's very good at hiding, and his hunches tend to be right. He typically doesn't go with the Irregulars on more dangerous assignments, and everyone looks out for him.
